Today credit union members around the world celebrate the 70th Anniversary of International Credit Union Day®. This annual event celebrates credit unions and how they’ve impacted members like you.
Merrimack Valley Credit Union is just one of the 89,000 credit unions worldwide. Like our fellow not-for-profit financial institutions in 117 countries, we provide a wide range of financial services for you, our member. It is part of the credit union movement to be accessible to our members by keeping fees to a minimum and keeping our loan rates low.
Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. Each year, this international event gives us the opportunity to thank you for your membership and to share our proud history as part of the credit union movement.
On this platinum anniversary, the “Find Your Platinum Lining” reminds us:
International Credit Union Day is recognized by the World Council of Credit Unions, the global trade association and development platform for credit unions and other financial cooperatives, as well as numerous national credit union trade associations and federations around the world.
