Step Up for Stepping Strong 2024 – RECAP
Home / News & Financial Education / News / Throughout the month of May, MVCU team members participated in Brigham & Women’s Hospital’s Step Up for Stepping Strong challenge

Throughout the month of May, MVCU team members participated in Brigham & Women’s Hospital’s Step Up for Stepping Strong challenge. This steps challenge is a wellness initiative that raises money and awareness for trauma research and patient care at The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation, which is celebrating the 10th anniversary this year and was founded by survivors of the Boston Marathon bombings.

MVCU’s company team of 93 walkers and runners contributed 17,148,874 steps during the month of May, helping secure a $100,000 donation to The Stepping Strong Center from sponsors.

“This challenge was a great opportunity for MVCU’s three culture-focused committees—the Passion Committee, the Kindness Committee and the Health & Wellness Club—to collaborate, share in the excitement around the initiative and create some fun and healthy competition among our team members,” said MVCU’s Vice President of Select Employer Groups, Member Growth and Development Sarita Ledani. “It was particularly impressive to have 93 MVCU teammates participate during the busy month leading up to our systems conversion on June 1. This has been such a great example of the MVCU OneTeam spirit, and we look forward to carrying this enthusiasm and deepening our involvement next year!”
