Helen Nazar Celebrates 40th Work Anniversary!

On April 2, MVCU’s Assistant Vice President of Operations Helen Nazar celebrated her 40th work anniversary with the credit union. Helen’s career in banking began at her hometown bank, Hyde Park Savings, where she worked first as a teller and then as a customer service representative. Five years later, Nazar joined RTN Federal Credit Union (which merged with MVCU in 2023). As the credit union grew, Nazar worked in the ATM department and became an expert in electronic payments and automated clearing house (ACH) payments including Social Security deposits. This experience would lead her to her current role as one of the leaders of MVCU’s Operations department.

While celebrating an anniversary is often a time of reflection, Nazar is excited about her career journey ahead and to continue to learn new processes and support her team members. “I am looking forward learning more about deposit operations, which is a bit of a change from my previous roles, and having the opportunity to help my staff grow and further their careers—which is a huge part of company’s core value of ‘elevating people.’”

As for her favorite part of being on the MVCU team, Nazar says: “The camaraderie with my co-workers and the ability to assist members with their financial needs. I am also very excited about the opportunities and growth for the employees here at MVCU!”

When she is not working, Nazar can be found spending time with her family and friends or enjoying one of her hobbies of travelling, taking long walks with her dog or visiting craft fairs.

Thank you for your dedicated service, Helen! We are so lucky to have you in our credit union family!
