This November, Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU) held its annual food drive in several of its branch locations. The drive supported organizations in locations ranging from southern New Hampshire to the south coast of Massachusetts.
Participating MVCU branches collected nonperishable food items from team members and members in celebration of the season of giving. This year, participating MVCU branch locations choose organizations that operate in their respective communities. The Plaistow branch donated food to the Providence Baptist Church food pantry in Epping, N.H.; the North Andover branch donated goods to the North Parish Church People’s Pantry in North Andover, Mass.; the Tewksbury branch donated to the Tewksbury Community Pantry; the Hanover branch donated to the Hanover Food Pantry; and the Bridgewater branch donated to the Bridgewater Food Pantry.
The Bridgewater, Hanover and North Andover branches paired the food drive with a Shred-It Day on Saturday, Nov. 18. In addition to generous food donations, credit union and community members brought old, unwanted documents to be shredded to protect their private personal information from identity thieves.
“It was amazing to see how generous our members and community truly are,” said North Andover Branch Manager Lina Quijano. “Food pantries like the People’s Pantry play such an important role in providing families in our community with food during the holidays and we are so happy to be able to support their hard work.”
The credit union is now hosting its annual toy drive at every one of its branch locations. Please bring new, unwrapped toys to your local branch and help spread joy to children in need this holiday season.
