Hi Everybody,
As I reflect on the busy spring we have had at the now larger Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU) and gear up for the exciting summer ahead of us, I have been thinking about the importance of engagement. As a community credit union, our most important focus is engaging positively with our members to offer solutions to life’s challenges and to be a positive force in the communities we serve.
When it comes to engaging our members, my teammates and I recognize that our institution is part of your life, not just a place that you visit occasionally to make financial transactions. We are here to help you through important — and exciting! — milestones, such as opening your first checking or savings account, or your child’s first account; when you purchase your first home or car; when your booming small business needs assistance; or when you are finally building your dream kitchen. We also connect you and your family to the community with events like our annual Christmas parties, Shred-It days, food drives and other fundraisers.
We are passionate about serving both your financial needs and getting to know you as a human being so that when you hit those inevitable life roadblocks, we can offer our support and help you navigate the challenge to a successful outcome. I am so proud to lead this incredible community-focused credit union and excited to let you know that we will be creating more exciting opportunities for member engagement in the coming months!
In the meantime, I want to emphasize the importance of engaging with your credit union. As you know, MVCU is owned by you—its members. This means that the revenue our not-for-profit credit union makes goes back to our members in many ways, including better interest rates, lower or no fees, more services at low or no cost, and importantly, more competitive benefits for our hard-working team members. It is in our DNA to give back to our members and our employees; we don’t take, we give, and we help each other out.
This means that the more that you engage with us, the more we are able to give back to you! I firmly believe in the philosophy: “A rising tide lifts all boats.” The success of our credit union depends on the health, happiness and success of our members and our team members. We are happily here for you and supporting your unique journey through life.
So, as we continue celebrating the exciting season of summer, don’t forget to engage with an MVCU team member. Utilize us for all of your financial needs—even if it’s just for financial advice or guidance from one of our experts. Let us know how you’re doing and how we can help. That’s what our credit union is all about!
Sincerely,
