Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU) has donated $30,000 to Emmaus, Inc. in Haverhill, Mass. The credit union is proud to be the nonprofit’s longest running and largest partner, having donated more than half a million dollars through 30 years of support for Emmaus, Inc.
Emmaus, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter and affordable housing to families and individuals facing homelessness. The organization also offers supportive services including homelessness prevention, rehousing and stabilization, career services, parental support and a coordinated entry process to “ensure that families and individuals experiencing homelessness receive appropriate assistance for their immediate and long-term housing and service needs” (according to the Emmaus, Inc. website).
“I can’t believe it has already been thirty years since we first partnered with Emmaus to support their incredible work in our communities,” said MVCU President & CEO John J. Howard. “There are a growing number of families and individuals who rely on Emmaus’ programs and resources. We are honored to sponsor their efforts to promote stability, dignity and confidence for our community members.”
"In a time when housing insecurity impacts the lives of so many people, it is heartwarming to know that Emmaus can rely on support from MVCU,” says Emmaus Vice President of Strategic Planning and Administration Eunice Zeigler. “On behalf of the families and individuals we serve, we say ‘thank you’ to the dedicated team at MVCU.”
Emmaus CEO Jeanine T. Murphy added: “Their support helps us to change lives, and we remain ever grateful for 30 years of meaningful partnership with MVCU.”
